- Led by Elizabeth Klinck, "Queen of Canadian film researchers." Has researched for hundreds of international documentaries that have won Emmy, Gemini, Peabody and Academy Awards; has taught at Ryerson; led research and rights clearance workshops in Canada and abroad. Recently nominated for an Emmy and received the FOCAL UK Lifetime Achievement Award.
- WRITING FOR CHILDREN’S MAGAZINES: GETTING STARTED
- SATURDAY, November 1, 2008, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Led by Anne Renaud, author of four children’s books; short-listed for the Silver Birch Award, the Hackmatack Children’s Choice Award and the Red Cedar Book Award. Has published over 100 articles, poems, crafts projects and stories in children’s magazines.
- WRITING FOR THE EAR: THE UNIQUE POWER OF RADIO
- SATURDAY, November 22, 2008, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Held in room 2.409 of the Journalism and Communication Studies Building, Loyola Campus, Concordia University.
- Led by Peter Downie, award-winning CBC national and regional radio and television host for over 30 years (Midday, Man Alive, As It Happens, Morningside and Cross Country Check-Up); produced and hosted weekly radio documentary series Tapestry; Winner, 2007 Michael Monty Memorial Award for Excellence in Broadcast Teaching, awarded by the Canadian Radio Television News Directors Foundation.
